Transmitter is proud to present I am Frida / Yo Soy Frida, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Frida Kahlo’s death.

Over the years, Kahlo’s influence has been both an entry point into painting and an iconic reminder of Mexican culture, providing artists worldwide with inspiration culled from Kahlo’s art, persona and iconography. Her compelling portraits are a mirror offering both self-reflection and a contemporary exploitation.

I am Frida / Yo Soy Frida, curated in collaboration with @miztlievents , features the work of eight artists and their reinterpretations of Kahlo’s influence.
